I loved hearing aspects of the gospel from the points of view of all of the family members. I read the whole book in about two months. There is space and lines for both Her Thoughts and His Thoughts. Our pastor handed them out during a men's retreat. Set up to be a once-a-day reading companion, there are contributions here from the oldest of the Duck Dynasty clan to some of the youngest, and each one of them are enjoyable and inspirational. This devotional is one of the best you will find! The stories and poems continually serve as reference points on a moral compass, guiding the reader through the ethical and spiritual challenges along the pathway of life: leaving home, entering into marriage, easing the burdens of others, nurturing one's children, and fulfilling the obligations of citizenship and leadership. It might seem awkward at first, but like I stated before, the Home Improvement part of us, gave us such insight into the communication portion of our marriage that we found ourselves really talking about more than simply our kids, jobs or life in general.

There is humbleness, there is transparency, and there is praise to the Lord for the blessings they have received from their obedience to the Lord God, along with prayers to Him in thanks. I should add that while almost all of the daily devotionals are written by a Robertson family member, there are days where you read My husband picked this up for me just before Thanksgiving, knowing how much I love the Lord, the Robertson family, and the color pink. It's a good recommendation when I go out and buy a book when I've already read the library's copy! Alan the beardless brother and his wife Lisa have created a devotional combining their hard-won wisdom about love and marriage to help bring couples closer together and closer to God. Everyday 365 days there is a different devotion. There is variety in their backgrounds and it helps to know where others who may have been in similar circumstances have journeyed in their walks with Christ.

I have enjoyed it and have learned almost before I reach the end and see the name who wrote it. He lives in West Monroe, Louisiana, with his wife, Lisa, his two grown daughters, and two grandchildren. Alan and Lisa Robertson had a failing marriage. The main point is to work together through it as a couple and I can tell you it has truly made our marriage more stronger, built our faith in ways we could never imagine and our communication with one another has improved as well as our prayer life as a couple. It's a delight to read her words of faith. I read it straight through, as I checked it out from the library, but I took my time, and could feel God's influence on me. Alan left the duck call business when he received the call for ministry in 1988 and served as a senior pastor in West Monroe, Lousiana, until 2012, when he, too, joined the Duck Commander clan to work with the family business.
Whether you have been married for a while, newly married or just thinking about it I think this is the book for you. Each week has a devotion, God's Blueprints, Encouragement, Scripture, Thoughts, Improvements, and Team Building. When you combine this with Robertsons family stories it makes for a tremendous guide. My favorites have to be from Miss Kay - she is so down-to-earth and clearly loves her family so much. I loved hearing aspects of the gospel from the points of view of all of the family members. Rich in content and elaborately designed to have a pleasing look with a short inspiring message supplemented by a passage from the Scripture, and a prayer, this unique devotional comes from the stars of Duck Dynasty, although the compiler Alan Robertson is the only one who isn't on the Duck Dynasty® show yet.
